STATEMENT: macOS, Android, and Web Support • Posted by EBJB Games • 01/01/2026
Hi everyone, we hope you're having a great start to the new year.
In a statement released by us regarding support for macOS devices in February of 2024, we said that we would drop support for macOS devices moving forward due to graphical issues and our inability to provide support as we do not work with macOS devices, with support for the platform potentially making a return following our transition over to the Unity game engine.
"This change will remain indefinitely. We are actively planning to change the engine we use to create our titles by 2026, meaning that by then, it is likely that these issues will no longer be present and so the macOS builds may return in the near future."
We have now fully transitioned to the new engine, with Five Faizul Fridays DX released in October and a new title currently in development. Later in the year, a developer plans to purchase an M-series MacBook Pro and as a result we will finally have constant access to a device running the platform. This means we can finally provide support for macOS ports for both x86 and Apple Silicon machines.
However, due to Apple's policy requiring applications to be signed (which involves an annual fee of $99), we unfortunately cannot continue making games for macOS, as unsigned applications reportedly require users to go through several warnings before opening, and in newer macOS versions unsigned applications simply refuse to open.
Although we won't be porting any games to macOS, we will still be able to provide some level of support to players for existing macOS ports by the end of the year. However if we find that the macOS port for certain games do not function or have major issues, they will not be re-released as we no longer store project files for our older titles since the engine switch, as Unity projects require significantly more storage space. Overall this means the following games should finally get official macOS support by the end of the year, assuming everything goes to plan:
Pigeon Puller (2023)
Five Faizul Fridays (2024)
We face a similar issue with our Android ports. In another statement released by us regarding future support for the Android port of Five Faizul Fridays in August of 2025, we said that Five Faizul Fridays for Android will be delisted from our library in September of 2026 due to Google's new developer verification system, where unsigned APK files will not be installable on modern Android devices. We said that we will delist the game as a result, however we have decided that we'll keep the game listed on our library, as it would be inconsistent to delist the Android port but keep the macOS ports, and delisting all Android and macOS ports would make our games less accessible than keeping them, even if only a small percentage of users would be able to play them as they would only run on older versions of Android and macOS respectively.
This means we will continue to support the Android port of Five Faizul Fridays, but we will not be able to release ports for newer games or update existing ports, same with macOS.
We are always looking to expand our reach and keep our playerbase as diverse as possible; we have always said that we do not want players missing out on our titles because there are no native ports for their platform. Historically, most of our games have be published with a Chrome OS port, simply an HTML file that plays the game in your browser. This includes:
Pigeon Puller (2023)
Five Faizul Fridays (2024)
Dead End (2024)
Dead End: The Fugitive (2024)
Dead End: The Lionfield Cure (2025)
We have always made sure to offer a Web port for our games for players on platforms like macOS or Linux which don't have native ports, so players can still experience our titles. During our transition to Unity, we were unable to port to Web for a period of time, but we are glad to announce that Five Faizul Fridays DX will finally be getting an official WebGL port when the next update comes out. As Web ports are accessible to all platforms, we will continue to provide full support to Web ports like we always have been.
The new engine also allows us to port to Linux. We considered porting Five Faizul Fridays DX and all future titles to Linux, however we would face a similar issue with macOS, where we wouldn't be able to provide official support as we do not have constant access to a Linux machine, plus the WebGL port will be playable on Linux and macOS anyway and as far as we are aware, nobody is attempting to play our titles on Linux. However if there is a high demand for Linux ports in the future, we will definitely consider porting to the platform, we simply won't be able to provide official support.
